A Note From The Executive Director

A note from the Executive Director: As the summer ends, we are greeted with the start of fall. The air starts to turn a little crisper at night, and the sun sets a little bit sooner each day. We get to pull out our sweaters, coats, and long pants. Thoughts of the upcoming holidays begin to excite us. It is time to plan fun family outings to the pumpkin patch or stay in and have a movie night by the fire. This is my favorite time of year!

Some of my favorite events are coming up here at POM as we go into this season. Soon we will be making arrangements for an evening of handing out winter coats to kids. We’ll be planning our Thanksgiving and Christmas food banks. Our volunteers will start bell ringing for Salvation Army. I am amazed each year by the generosity of our community as volunteers step-up and donations begin to pour in.

Before all the busyness starts, I just want to say THANK YOU to all of you that help make this an amazing time of year. To all our volunteers that put in extra hours to ensure everything is just right, to the many service groups that show up to help, to our donors that take the time to shop for extra holiday things for our clients. Thank you to the army of people in this community for taking time to help POM compassionately serve.

Blessings, Elisha Smith-Marshall
