"Sherry" is a POM client from before this whole COVID mess happened, but we wanted to share her thank you letter with all of you, who support us, pray for us, and allow successes like this to happen. Imagine if your life was shattered by a cancer diagnosis. You have a physically demanding job and, due to your illness, are unable to work. Your medical bills are piling up on top of your living expenses. It’s a scary place to be! But, that’s where POM can help someone like Sherry. Our case managers paid her rent and helped her to find a less physically demanding job. They encouraged her to access the food bank to save more money for bills, and, they helped her research the many resources that help pay medical expenses. As you can read below, Sherry is now doing well! We are grateful to all of you who make this happen. Thank you for sharing your compassion and love with the Sherrys in our community. “Dear POM,
I wanted to write this letter to thank everyone who helped me with my rent. That really meant so much to me. The kindness that everybody has in this place is out of the ordinary. I have never met anyone so kind and helpful. My new job is going wonderfully and my treatment is good as well. As soon as I can I will stop by and say "Hi". I can't come to the food bank because of my work house, but soon I will get a paycheck and I will by my own food! Thanks again….for everything!”
